View Full Version : Netscape problems

I have built 2 flash sites. Both play fine in IE, however both have problems in netscape. Depending on the version one does not play at all, just shows as a broken picture.
in the other the background on the flash part is red, instead of the intended black color.
Any insite as to what is the problem, or ways to avoid this in the future?

Netscape may not be using the right flash plugin,
I would try re-installing the netscape browser and flash 5 plugin.
as for insite, I just make sure I test as I go, everytime I preview, I make sure that I check out my movie in both browsers.

Why don't you post a link on the site check forum and we'll test it for you.

I checked the first link and the sound worked fine in both netscape and IE,
the second link loded fine in both browsers, but the netscape showed a red BG like you said it would. After looking at the page code I found that for some reason your embedded swf code has a BG tag set to #800000 like this.
<EMBED src="maximus.swf" quality=high bgcolor=#800000
set the tag to this,
<EMBED src="maximus.swf" quality=high bgcolor=#000000
and it shold work fine.

I did not realize that you could reset or change the flash background from the HTML. I thought it was sent during the creation in flash.
