Using getURL to Download an item!??

I need to have a link to download a PDF through Flash. I currently have a link in Flash, "Download a PDF" attached to this button is a "getURL = 'afilename.pdf' " command with simply the file name. But, every time I load it up to the site, and click on the link, it wants to go to a specific page, not immediately download the item. What gives? :(

"Adobe acrobat reader" after installation adds a plugin into your browser
it means that PDF will be readed as a regular html page

all you can do is:
zip your file

if the problem isn't that the acrobat reader is opening in the browser, and that it just won't download from the server - you may have to adjust your server mimetypes to recognize .pdf (ask your server administrator, he or she should understand this issue)
