Button actions and movie clip help please

Hi there can someone please give me some help. It should be pretty straight forward.

Basically how can i make a button in one movie play the next sequence in another movie clip?

For example i have a button in movie clip1 which causes an animation to play between frame label A and B in movie clip2. i have tried the mx reference but this isn't very clear for a newbie! I'm guessing it has something to do with _root.gotoand play(a) ?, _parent or something - no?

Really appreciate any help!

Are you having a problem with the paths? It should look something like:
_root.MovieClip2.gotoAndPlay("label");
