what macromedia software to chose

i've studied flash mx for a while and i wonder what other software by macromedia or else should i study first in order to improve my results or expand the mostly my visual range in flash mx? (fireworks, dreamweaver ect.) :rolleyes:

In my opinoin, Photoshop and AfterEffects would probably be the better choices for visual extensions of flash.
