I have a piece that I am trying to get to work online. It contains external (obviously) quicktimes. Works fine if I publish as a projector. Works fine if I publish as a dcr and then run the html file locally. Doesn't work if I upload all the files and try to run the html file off the server (quicktimes just don't load)
Any ideas?
Thanks

Did you select download xtras as needed? I think too that qt assets need to be in a special folder (called "dsmedia" or something like that) to work for an online dcr... not unlike the fscommand folder. I forget the specifics exactly since I never use qt in dir online.

would it not use the same Xtras if played in a browser locally as it would if played in a browser from a server? I don't 'think' its an xtras issue because from what I've read, all standard xtras like the quicktime asset are built in to the shockwave player
Yep, I have all the external files in a dswmedia folder
you can see it here

I put in a text box to display the fileName property of the first quicktime that is meant to play. It first flashes up with the path that the file had on my comp
ie
G5:Macintosh HD:Users/Me/etc
and then quickly jumps to the correct path to the file
Any thoughts?
Thanks for the reply

sorry the reason the text box first had the path to the local file (G5 etc) was because that was the text inside the text box when I published it...

I suggest opening Modify > Movie > Xtras... finding the qt assets, and checking off Download If Needed. Re-export, Re-upload, Re-fresh, and Re-test and see if that does anything for you.

yep tried that - no difference
Also found this
Quicktime 6 Xtra
This package enables Shockwave Player or projectors to use Quicktime media. Quicktime 3 or greater is required to be installed on the computer (Quicktime 6 is recommended). Since this package is included in the standard Shockwave Player download, it is not necessary to use it with Shockwave Player movies; however, minimal projectors will need to download this package to systems where Shockwave Player is not installed.
Thanks anyway
