I have a 9000 rows file and I would like to take off odd rows from this file (I mean, I want to keep one value and delete the next one recursevely). How could I do that with awk or sed? Do you know a better idea to do that?

Thank you very much!

Howdy and Welcome... :)

Generally speaking, you need to use LoadVars() object to load the content of that file and parse however way you want whether you want to have even rows or odd rows... Go check out the tutorials section to find the LoadVars() tutorial...

BUT, I am more concerned on the number of the rows you have in the file... I don't know how complex it is composed of, but 9000 sounds quite big number for Flash to handler... Maybe you might want to separate the text file in multiples and load appropriate text file when you need... (awk or sed can not be used in Flash...)
