If no browser window is open I don't think there's any way to popup an email client without openning a browser. mailto: is browser syntax after all.

Um... I don't have a good solution, but this might work...
Get rid of the Mac and work for the PC and be the slave!!!
:p
Sorry... I had to say it... :D
Not the solution, but a question...
I have no Mac, so I don't know what the problem is...
What happens if you order mailto on Mac??? I mean browser window with what???

of course I could make a page that closes instantly when it opens, but then the app is still on, so ... they'll have to live with it...

if you want him, come and claim him!
and then my horse gets on it's back feet, and a gigantic waterwave flows you away...
nfr: any resemblance to persons or movies are purely coincidal ;)
