Yeah, though if I were one of the artists I think I wouldn't enter any store anymore...ghehehe, freakin barcodes...
But man, this thread's around 5 days old and still nobody has psoted any twisted conspiracy-theory whatsoever...what's happening?? To be honest I expected someone would've spit out their thoughts by now about the products that belong to the barcodes in the animation...

I dont think its real... Too damn smooth to be real... But thats just my opinion... :Dwell...maybe not, but then again; even if it's not real then it's still a very creative idea...right?
does anybody know where you can search for barcodes and see what products they're registered to?
 - Ruben
Well, not really, but I do know where you can look up ISBN numbers... If that is any help... haha

Well, not really, but I do know where you can look up ISBN numbers... If that is any help... hahayeah, that's a great help, though I doubt if anyone could remain serious while evacuating the world and stating that barcode ????????? is the same as the isbn-number for a book on exploding barbie-dolls....

Wow, Jesus in barcode form....wonder how much the total comes to?? :D
Alright, who's with me, my guess is that it all of the barcodes make a total of 666,666,666,666...
:p - Ruben
No, I think the total would come to 666,666,666,667.99 ....Only because now they have to change the value, because you discovered it....Thats how they work, when you figure it out, they change it so you seem crazy....

as to the conspiracy theories..... it is OBVIOUS to me that you are all part of a conspiracy to convince others that there is no conspiracy... i'm onto you...

I thought this was supposed to be about twisted conspiracy theories...
and not a one yet (the bar-code theory almost counts :-). What is wrong w/ you people????
where do I begin?
I think the BEST one I've heard is the Ickeian mythos of the
<SHAPESHIPTING 4th DIMENSIONAL REPTILES>
that have subverted humanity since the ancient world and now basically run things via psychic and physical control of world leaders (political and economical) - ie the web of secret societies known as the Brotherhood (secret occult societies like: Freemasons, Rosicrucians, Bavarian Illuminati, Knights Templar and so on...). The brotherhood are known publically as community service groups - and communicate their ill intentions through their symbologies (ie - the all seeing eye over the pyramid - that graces the one dollar bill and was to be the logo for the new Information Awareness Office - which is part of Homeland Security). Also - check the layout of Washington DC - a massive pentagram.
Anyhoo - the reptialians supposidly have been arround since ancient times - and came to earth to interbreed with the humans. They show up in ancient writing all over the world (think the reptilian gods - Nagas of Hindu mythology). Then there is the whole LUCIFERIAN connection (i guess that lucifer was a reptile?) - cause it was a serpent that came to adam and eve in biblical mythology...
anyway - Lucifer wanted (wants?) to control the world - and has done it through the psychic control of the world leaders. Icke goes as far as to say the current world leaders actually ARE reptiles (the whole Bush family, the Royal family of England, the Rockefellers etc...) and that they (when not in the public eye) participate in nefarious rites and rituals (in such places as Bohemian Grove in northern california where they worship an ancient babylonian god named Molech). All in the hopes to eventually control the world.
and then the whole terrorism tip - that emergencies have been purpetrated throughout the last couple hundred years to solidify central control and to bring about a world government (think the Nazi Reichstagg, and, of course, 9-11 and the Patriot Act). The world government will then control everyone via subcutaneous microchips that function as mind control devices (or something like that)...
god, did I miss anything? probably the aliens.
what a laff, I tell you. reminds me of HP Lovecraft - and would be some damn fine fiction, if he weren't serious...

PS. If you're into the whole conspiracy-thingie then you might wanna see the 9th gate (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0142688) (with Johnny Depp) sometime, I didn't think it was such a thrill, but it was kinda interesting...
Bosworth
01-09-2005, 12:21 AM
yah- thought you might like that little run down...
and = I wouldn't say I was "into" conspiracy theory thingies - but I had a roommate about a decade ago who very much was... (claimed he had been abducted at one point - and, man, did have some VERY wierd friends...) so - I've kinda kept up on the whole plot - but I really don't give it much credence...
(though sometimes you gotta wonder...)
what is interesting is that the whole Big Brother/Empirical/Luciferian takeover scenario is a MAJOR element in the mythos of modern america... from V the Final Battle (that one actually was about reptilian invaders) to Star Wars to Antz (oddly enough - my 9 year old was watching that the other day and I was kind of startled to see the plot line go the way of a totalitarian takeover...) - also video games, like Half Life 2 - - -
A more scholarly approach would be to say that there really were totalitarian regimes in our immediate past (Nazi germany, Stalinist Russia) and that those were very shocking events that we can scarcely imagine... and the culture is still working those ideas (and lingering fears) through.
9th Gate,huh - I'll check it out.
cheers

Ruben
01-09-2005, 10:43 AM
Haha, Stalinist, is that a word? I though it was called communist Russia, well, whatever...
I'm not really into the whole conspiracy thing as far as the stories go like Tony Blair actually being a reptile wanting to obtain control over the world to have the best pick of grass to eat...
Though I do think you should question alot of stuff happening in the world, like whether or not terrorism really was the reason for the war on Iraq and Afghanistan, and not something else (for instance money?).
And for the alien abductions, well, I don't know what I should imagine it'd look like, someone being abducted by aliens, but I wouldn't say it's not true...I haven't got anything to prove it's not true (well for all of the stories that is).
It's actually quite interesting, the most often heard characteristic of almost every abduction-story is often the reason for alot of people not to believe the stories, though on the other side could also be a reason to make you do believe everything.
Let me explain; In most stories people talk about being 'beemed' up into an UFO, in which they wake up laying on some weird sort of brancard, surrounded by creatures smaller than humans with huge eyes and small mouths, etc, etc. So conclusively you could state that abducted person #1 has made up a story, abducted person #2 heard it and made up another abduction, which was heard, slightly modified and told by abducted person #3...etc etc.
You could also say that they didn't copy eachothers stories and that aliens indeed look (and abduct people) like this...

honestly,
until i see such a thing with my own eyes, it's gonna be tough to convince me.
- it is true - there is a copious amount of ufo "stuff" floating arround in the modern culture. Rationaly - it would seem that "something" was actually happening - I mean - when evidence piles up to such a high degree - it indicates some actual occurance. (otherwise it would be a case of "mass hallucination"... and that is probably less of a possibility.)
though -
in the end - people have a brazen capacity to imagine experiences. The inner, subjective world (that of dream-conciousness - whch normally only exists during REM sleep) has been known to impinge upon the waking life of various people (think schizophrenia) and when you have a culture weaned on tales like ET and xfiles - those stories begin to inform the dream world. Is is possible that that an "informed" dream world takes on a reality of its own in the minds of "less stable" people (and then proclaimed as truth)? much like people relaying tales of "boogiemen" and other "denizens of the night" back several hundred years prior to these modern dark ages? and could you apply this same logic to the myriad conspiratorial tales floating arround?
maybe.
course. its a very, very large universe, and I expect that many, many things exist totally unknown to mankind's modern "rationality".

I couldn't agree more...though I couldn't imagine that there hasn't been anyone in the past 100yrs making up such an experience for the sake of getting rich...what say you?
- Ruben
Bosworth
01-10-2005, 01:31 AM
getting rich?
sure - I mean - why not. LOL
lots of people get rich making things up... hell - the whole creative industry is based on exactly that. Like putting athletes winning races and sh*t on McDonalds bags (that hold three double cheeseburgers)....
(mmmm. Cheeseburgers...)
I think that most people, though, who tell wild tales of ufo abduction (or other theories of conspiracy and whatnot) probably don't gain much in the way of riches or public esteem...
Also = the fact that tales of "ususual" things in the sky go back to the dawn of written history (not just the last 100 yrs), probably gives a little more credibility to those tales...
Take crop circles, for example. There obviously have been great attempts to recreate that phenomenon - and I think many (or most) could be passed off as hoaxes. But there is that minority of accounts which appears to be "the real thing" - the level of detail and geometric sophistication of which I can scarcely believe that they were perpetrated. and for what purpose...
who knows.
:D
b()X
But have either of you considered that maybe, just maybe, aliens abduct in that manner simply to hide the truth. Knowing that all these people would be thought of as tellings "tales". It would further their conspiracy to hide the truth, and as we all know, simplicity is perfection and its the perfect cover story...
Ruben
01-10-2005, 01:46 PM
Whahaha, yeah, as in doing something so stupid that no-one would believe the people that saw you doing that particular thing...nice thought...
Otherwise I would've thought you were making me look the wrong way, but hey, since you're one of the mighty Knights of Secretishness (http://www.actionscript.org/forums/showthread.php3?t=61406#post61406) I've got no choice then believe your sayings for truth...
:D - Ruben
Conspiracy theories are action plans!
Lets say for instance, an alien ship lands tomorrow, and for a change, lets make it in a different country than america. (seeing that these things always happen in america... haha). What would happen to society as we know it? Would we be able to handle the truth? my guess is that pandemonium will break loose.
I think we come up with conspiracy theories to 'prepare' ourselves for things we are scared/uninformed about... that could one day come true...
Oh yeah, and I do think that the roayl family might be shape shifting lizzards... :p haha!

I wz watching this show on high tech aircraft last night on the "discovery" channel (supposing you want only to discover new ways to build hotrod choppers) - wait, maybe it was the history channel... god I don't know.
anyway = at the end of it they had this guy on who alluded to the "highest" tech aircraft in development were "50 years beyond anything the public could even imagine". = that, ultimately, most ufo sightings were black ops projects - and that the whole ufo mythos was perpetrated to keep a lid on the truth (which was that the "govmet" had super secret projects that they were hiding from the public (sic) - meaning competeing military establishments).
kind o makes sense to me.
(but then, how do you explain movies like "fire in the sky" = I mean, they seem so... well, plausible (LOL)
b()X
Ruben
01-10-2005, 08:43 PM
Well the aircraft-theory isn't that twisted at all, I recogn (note: I recogn ;))...
.....come to think of it; conclusively anybody who'd believe the aircraft-theory would have to state that the abducted were kidnapped by really ugly looking people testing the secret projects for the airforce department...it al makes sense to me now

I think i'm gonna use my for good.
wait - no...
evil.
well - maybe good sometimes = and evil other times (depending on the situation at hand...). Like - if I could program my giant walking tree to go crush Martha Stewart - would that be good or would it be evil? How about Bill Gates? (or both Bill and Melinda = that's be a twofer)
