HELP!!! Movie Symbol won't accept an action...

I know it's something stupid, but me and a co-worker are strugglin with assigning an action to a movie clip (AND a graphic too!) I don't know what the deal is!

When the symbol is on the stage, the actions pallette gives me no options...It's a symbol, and I just want it to do a simple dotoandplay...

(I can send the FLA if needed)

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!

Your biggest problem is that you can use symbols and AS. Symbols are for tweening. You need to be using Movie Clips and make sure that you are giving them a unique name in the instance panel so that you can address them later.

MC name = myClip

in frame or event handler
_root.myClip.gotoAndPlay(frame);
