Well I have been making a movie that I would like to put onto the web but I don't know how to do that. I do know how to publish things but I just don't know how to put it up on the web. I know many of you have added flash into your own sites and wondered if you could share with me how to do the same. Thank you.
Pieter.
first, you need a server to host your file...
you then need to upload the your swf file and the html that was generated when you published the movie to that server...
cheers.

Dunno if I'm overdoing it with the clearness, but I dont know what you do and don't know, so here goes:
To put your files online you'll need a place to put them in (domain). This is what tGP mentioned, a server. Those spaces is just a bunch of mb's for you to use as you like. These spaces are connected to a web adress (www) and are usually not free. There are free domains, just Google for them.
When you have a place like that you upload your file, the swf and the html generated when you published you flash. You can do this by means of an FTP program, wich is a complete diferent story. (CuteFTP or something)
Shis is the long version of what tGP said. If you still don't know what we're talking about, say so, and I'll elaborate even more. ;)

thimk00, It is actually fairly simple.
You first need to register a domain. You can do this with someone like networksolutions.com or godaddy.com. First think of a name you want your domain to be. This domain for this forum is actionscript, the extension is .org. Next check to see if this domain is already registered by someone. You could try a different extension (.com, .org, .net). This should take about 48 hours to take effect.
Second, you need to buy hosting space. Again you can find this almost anywhere. At first you probably dont need alot. You then need to set up your domain to refer to your hosting space. Your hosting company will give you the information you need to do that. This would be the DNS nameservers
and their corresponding IP addresses.
Then you need an FTP program to upload your HTML page to your hosting space. Some hosting companies offer a control panel which allows you to upload your files. In this case you do not need FTP.
There is a bit more to it than this, but this is a basic overview.
