Why do I see only 2 threads listed in this JSFL forum ( http://www.actionscript.org/forums/forumdisplay.php3?f=37 )? I see 53 listed in the top-level forums view/index ( http://www.actionscript.org/forums/ ).

Howdy and Welcome... :)

The default setting is set to one month span, I think...

Look for this string from that forum... 'Display Options'
You should be able to find multiple drop down boxes...
Find the drop down menu that says 'From the' and set the value of that box to 'Beginning' and click on the 'Show Threads' button...

:)

Thanks, that solves it.

Aside: I never have understood why so many BB's (especially vbulletin) do this (restrict displays to the past month by default). This setting has never helped me and always confused me whenever I've run into it....because it seems that most of the web forums on the planet seem to want to list all the messages (I guess that's the only intuitive thing I can think of).

So I wonder aloud here...why does this forum list only the last month's topics "by default"?

Howdy... :)

I wouldn't know cuz I don't run this board... ;)
But my guess is that the admin set it up that way to reduce the unnecessary database query calls... Other than that, I cannot think of any other reason for it... ;)

BTW, you can change your own setting if you like to...

User CP -- Edit Options -- Default Thread Age Cut Off
Select appropriate setting from there... ;)

Oh, this does make sense to me. Thanks. :)
