i have installed a mod for phpbb and its having trouble with mySQL database.
keep getting error;
Failed to update site_desc to Clea\ in phpbb_config

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'site_desc'' at line 2

UPDATE phpbb_config SET config_value = 'Clea\' WHERE config_name = 'site_desc'

Line : 66
File : /home/adamck/public_html/forum/admin/admin_bp_settings.php
tried looking at the mySQL manually but hasnt worked :confused:
help please!

How did you think of posting the phpBB question to the AS.org??? :D

What's the MOD that you are installing??? Can you give us the URL where you have downloaded it???

Where did the backspace coming from in the 'Clea\'??? I think that's causing the problem...

well posted in the right section i suppose!

MOD - bring people (http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/4444)
have installed it but in the admin menu when i click activate bring people i get that error.
found that area in mySQL but im no good at databases so i dont wanna try too much :o
the "clea\" part is the name of part of the forum im guessing,

Its a forum for a pop group called clea!

ooops yeah u where right it was the backslash it used my site description for some reason...
i changed it to clea and it worked!!!!!

Well... Glad that you've got it working... :)

forum is still under construction at the mo so theres no users to use the mod yet, will keep u updated though so u can see it.
very cleverly creates a link for each user and when they e-mail it to people it adds points to their account if the person recieving the e-mail signs up.
good way to get the users i guess :D

Ah... I thought that's something totally different... I think I know what sort of MOD you are talking about... ;)
