View Full Version : Wonky 'Flash loading Html' Question

Having read a few threads on loading html text into flash, my imagination was sparked:

Would it be at all possible to create a sort of 'magnifying glass'?

So that as an html page was loaded, the user could maneuver a lens created in flash such that anything displayed through it was the html below, but enlarged as though seen through a magnifying lens?

Is that maniacal laughter I hear? I wouldn't blame you. It's a wonky question from a newbie.

Here's something perhaps more realistic:

How does one create a zoom for an mc? So that the user can enlarge certain parts of a movie clip...such as looking at details of a map.

Thanks for any thoughts!

there are various magnifying glass open source files at www.flashkit.com/movies/ . Try a search there. They're all Flash only though... iyt sounded before like you wanted to drag a flash file around an HTML page... bad news :)

Sounds like a great idea. But it is not possible. You could do it if you had the original html page within a flash movie.
It would be easier to use javascript rewrite the section of a page the magnifier is over.

Another problem with using flash for it is the tiny tiny bit of html that flash can actually deal with (no tables, no images, no lists.....).

I still really like the idea.
