Hi there,

I am new to flash and I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction in terms of creating a masking effect.

I saw a similar one in Zoukclub.com (http://www.zoukclub.com/base.htm) under its "Clubs" and "Jobs" sections. (bottom anchor image)

If you'll notice, there is a subtle easing effect within the masked movieclip, which I am clueless on how it's acheived.

Hope someone can shed some light on this seamingly simple mask/ease effect. :) Thanks.

First off, there are 2 image clips, one on top and one on the bottom. The top one is being masked with one small square. The square eases around following the mouse. The square lags behind the mouse. As the distance between the mouse and square increase, the top image clip increases its scale an equal amount. As the square nears the mouse, the top image reduces its scale until back to 100%. The scaling of the top image is not proportional. If the square is in the center of the stage while the mouse is 100 pixels to the right and 10 pixels up then the top image will be scaled more on the _x axis than on the _y axis.
