Hello,

I am wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to edit an externtal html file from a flash movie?

Here are some examples of what I want to be able to do to the html file from flash:

1) Change the background color or image
2) Add text in a specfic area (in a existing table for example)

Is this sort of thing possible from a flash movie? Can a flash movie change
the background color of an HTML file and then save the HTML file? Or do
I need some other type of scripting program?

Also the flash movie will end up in a director movie and wont be online... So I won't really be able to execute any PHP scripts or anything because it will be
an offline exe when completed...

Any help or ideas would be great.

Thanks, Andrew

Howdy and Welcome... :)

The logical approach to me is to edit the HTML file from the Director projector... ;)

Hello,

Humm I didn't know you could do that in director, does it require a director Xtra
plugin?

Do you know if it is also possible to display an external html file in director?
Preferably the one that is being edited?

Thanks for the help, Andrew

Well... My Director day is long gone, so I cannot really give you much detail, but I think you should be able to edit the HTML file by using some of those file related Xtras... and I remember seeing some HTML related Xtra that will pretty much make the Director to embed the full blown web browser...

So, the answer to your questions would be all yes, but I cannot really name the names of the Xtras... I guess that'll be your job to investigate further and give us answers to that... :)
