Macromedia's Flash Player License and Distribution Agreement indicates it is required for object code versions of the Flash Player, but not for embedded or device versions. I plan to distribute my Flash movie as a Windows projector (exe) on CD. Is a projector an embedded version? This is a product demo to be distributed for free, not for sale. Does it require the distribution license?

Thanks for your help.

I found this answer on another forum:

"You can distribute the EXE files you make with Flash without worrying, you're not actually using the Flash "player" (OCX, plugin, etc). The Flash EXEs were designed specifically so you could distribute your Flash movies without the plugin."

Any other opinions or information would be appreciated.

thanks for finding that - i am on the verge of printing 5000 copies of this disk ive been workind on - and kind of had that question lingering...

related: do you know if use of the flash logo is required?
all I could determine after looking at the macromedia site is that if you want to use the logo - they have specific requirements - but don't seem to indicate whether or not it is a required thing.

After a lot of looking on Macromedia's site, I found the license terms for distributing Flash projectors:

http://www.macromedia.com/software/eula/tools/flash_runtime_license.html

It does not mention anything about displaying their logo or credits in the end product. I believe this is because all projectors include Flash copyright information in the About Screen (accessible through the right-click menu). It does restrict using the Educational or Not for Resale versions of Flash to internal use only.
