I just got handed a trouble-client ( lucky me ) who is interested in using an effect similar to the transition on Armen Abrahamyan's slideshow.

Is there a tutorial anywhere I could look at to guide me in the right direction. My head is hurting just trying to figure out where to start.

Thanks for your help on this. Wow, that kirupa discussion just keeps on going and going...

I don't know if the client is going to end up using this effect, but I'm glad I've got a place to learn for myself.
