Sync text with flv

HELP!
I am trying to sync text with an flv video clip. I downloaded a demo fla that I modified to add text which has to sync up with cue points in the video. I am using the Media Playback component to control the video and everything works fine until the video is interrupted, ie., paused or moved back/ahead with the slider. My text continues independent of the video. I have to admit I am new to Flash and haven't got into ActionScript but don't see a way to link the timelines without it. ANY SUGGESTIONS ????

I'm assuming by the lack of replies, that this post belongs in another topic or there aren't too many applications requiring text/video synchronization. If anyone has any clues or pointers to some existing material on this subject, I'd be most grateful......... thanks

Wow! Turns out the template in your link is the one I am using, ie., "Video Presentation with Navigation". It has most of what I need, except for the synchronization of text. Your referenced link also has a link to

which addresses the text/video sync. However, this template does not use the Media Playback component, in fact it has no video controls like pause, play, etc.. The magic I need is for the Media Playback controls, ie., pause, stop, and play, to also control the timeline for text.

I think I came across a link that addresses this situation. Problem is, my knowledge in this area is zip, zero, notta, etc. which doesn't allow me to implement a solution. For anyone interested, the link is:
