Make Button Action Into Standalone Movie?

I would like to take a layer in a movie that is the action when a certain button within that movie is released, and make it into a standalone movie that plays automatically (i.e., it will be triggered in a button from html instead of in flash). I can copy the layer into a new movie, but how do I convert it so that it plays automatically?

How about converting it into a movieclip ? They can play without user input.

I don't know your setup, so I thought you had everything in a button.

But what you can do, is open a new Flash document and copy all the frames from the layer you want to make a stand alone movie and past them into your new Flash document.
