simple action?

Hey Everyone,

I trying to do what seems to be a simple action, but I can't figure it out.

I have a scene stopped half way. How do I get it so that when I press a button, the scene plays to the end, then jumps to whichever scene is specified by the button (not necessarily the next scene)?

Any comments or suggestions are very appreciated.

in frame 1 of your first scene put something like:
sceneName=1;
in your stopped frame (let's just say 20) put your buttons. On your first button put:
on (release) {
_root.sceneName=2;
gotoAndPlay(21);
}
on each subsequent button change it to read _root.sceneName=3, and 4 etc.
then at the end of your first scene (let's just say frame 40) put:
if(_root.sceneName==2){
gotoAndPlay ("Scene_2", 1);
}
if(_root.sceneName==3){
gotoAndPlay ("Scene_3", 1);
}
if(_root.sceneName==4){
gotoAndPlay ("Scene_4", 1);
}
Obviously make sure your frame names are changes to whatever you are using. That is a basic way that should get you to be able to play the rest of your scene 1 animation before going to the selected frame. Cheers.

I have just spent the last 10 hours looking through site after site after site to try and find out how to do this.
