simple action?

Hey Everyone,

I trying to do what seems to be a simple action, but I can't figure it out.

I have a scene stopped half way. How do I get it so that when I press a button, the scene plays to the end, then jumps to whichever scene is specified by the button (not necessarily the next scene)?

Any comments or suggestions are very appreciated.

Could you please be more specific:

1. Do you want a button in the middle of your scene that stopped to continue through the scene or to start over again and not stop in the middle but go to the end?

2. Do you want a button in the middle of the first scene to go to a certain frame in the current scener or in a whole different scene?

3. Or am I way off?

see, the thing is, nobody seems to understand my question.

I want a button to play out a scene, then jump to some other scene indicated by that button. Sorry to be going everywhere, but people don't understand my question.

I know I probably did a bad job explaining the problem, so I'm trying again.

Marvin, there have been several replies to your question - all of which will do what it appears you are trying to do. Have you tried any of these suggestions? If we are not understanding your question then maybe you need to ask it in another way. Cheers, Rupert

I'm getting the feeling that you're getting discouraged which is normal (welcome to the flash community ;) ) just don't give up

is it possible that you could outline your project?

example:

there are 3 scenes named. partOne, partTwo, and partThree.

partOne has 15 frames. I want the movie to be stopped on frame one HOWEVER when you press the button it will play through the rest of the frames in that scene...

etc.. etc.

or, if possible, do you have any webspace that you could post your .swf so far? that way we could understand what you're trying to do.

If you don't have any webspace grab some free space at angelfire of something and then post the link here so we can take a look
