View Full Version : Figuring Out NetConnection Status

I just started with Flash Communication Server yesterday, so this may be a dumb question - if so, I apologize.

I'm working with Flash Comm Server and Flex. My connection code is in an actionscript file that is called by an mxml file. I've written the code as follows:

var nc; (<---- this used to say var nc:NetConnection; but I've heard that's bad)
var stream1_ns:Object;
var stream2_ns:Object;

function start() {
nc = new NetConnection();
nc.connect("rtmp://128.91.0.2/my_app/defstream");
stream1_ns = new NetStream(nc);
stream2_ns = new NetStream(nc);
}

This seems to work - sort of. In the administrator, when I connect, I see the following:
New NetStream created (streamID:1).
New NetStream created (streamID:2).

But I don't see anything about the NetConnection. Am I supposed to? I can't see why the NetStreams would show up if it wasn't working, but not seeing any status on the NetConnection object makes me think I'm missing something.

Any help would be appreciated.
