hy,
www.inflex.org (http://www.inflex.org)
has launched.
It would be great if you would check it out.
The site tries to go new ways in intro-design and navigation.
So, hope you'll enjoy.
Please send me feedback, or write into the guestbook.
thanx

i liked the design it looks good, but a few problems
1: the intro is a bit boring, it would be better if you added more movement etc to it, or just plain shortened it.
2:the window that opens up is a: annoying b:too big for my screen, i couldnt see the whole thing i had to move it sometimes into view.
3: for the menu bit i liked it but i think you should not have full blocks of colour that raise up when you hover, you could make it have an outline the same as the other panels and fill it with a light colour to make it look like a glass panel or something, just make sure it has the outlines i think that would look better.
but apart from that its really good, oh and another thing, what font do you use and how do you get it to look so crisp???
thanks i hope my comments have been useful!!!

I agree with ACtionSplash...the intro page is in a little need of spicing up. However, I like the menu page a lot. I didn't mind the colour of the blocks. I think an outline wouldn't be enough of a contrast. I didn't have a problem with the size of it either...but I'm using a 19" LCD so maybe that's why.
Just the intro that needs changin'....:D

the size of the site is optimized for 1024*768!
Therefore i can't help if you use a smaller screen! *gg*
It stands on the index site, that you have to use at least 1024*768. (1024 gives me a lot of space!)
For the users with 800*600 there will come a simple html version of the site.
sorry.
And to the intro I have to say, that I did it in the intention to differenciate from all this intros with swift effects an moving type, and all this "amazing" poping up pictures and senseless effect- intros.
I just wanted to give a first impression what inflex is.
I know it not the intro, everyone is astonished about, but I tried to bring it to level further.
any comments on this?
but thanx.

I would team up with somebody who can write. I know that sucks to hear but the copy is horrible and flat. It's obvious there's design skill (although a little derivitive) there. A good writer can actually help structure the conceptual nature of a site and put some real meat on the bones if you'll pardon the expression.
Be nice to see the portfolio stuff bigger...

I understand why you would want to get away from the usual sites that they have now. In all their attempts to make the original, they've turned the unusual into the usual. The intro is not THAT bad. It could be a little on the lengthy side for what it is though. With attention spans being what they are today, just text on the screen can't be too long, otherwise people will undoubtedly 'skip' the intro. And you shouldn't want them to skip any part. But that's a problem that's easily fixed. I think the site is basically right on.
good stuff.

to vilehelm,
oh I'm sorry about the copy, but I'm from Austria and I am just a seventeen-year-old student....
Therefore my english isn't really good! *gg*
But when you think the concept and structure is bad, than I can't go along with you!
Please tell me your problem, it would be a great help.
thanx.
cu georg.
you put your site here to be critiqued, so don't be critical of folks giving you valuble feedback... it is hard to have stuff you've worked hard on to be criticized, but folks here are giving you feed back to help you improve your site. if your going to ask people what they think of your site, don't expect everyone to tell you it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Excuse me!
I'm sorry if you feel like I critizesed Wlandymore.
Never, never, never!
I just wanted to know more exactly what he meant!
And feedback that critizises is much better than feedback, that doesn't say the truth.
I feel sorry, if this was misinterpreted.
thanx for all feedback I get!!!

you didn't criticize me. You were criticizing Vilehelm. I didn't say anything really negative about the site.
Just thought I would mention that.

oh I am sorry!
of course I meant vilehelm.
so if it was interpreted as critic, I feel sorry.
But it would be great for me to talk to vilehelm about his ideas.

well i think the site's ok, it's just fine.
there are a LOT of sites out there just like this (Praystation is a good example) experimental and open ended which is also fine. however, if you really wanted to stand out from the crowd of experimental open ended sites then you would try to find a specific voice with which to speak... I like praystation but i don't think it's particularly meaningful and i don't know if i should have that expectation upon it (interpret that to mean i'm undecided).
Yenz.com and all of the creations within that are a better example i think of what the medium could get to. It's open ended but it really does have a specific place to speak from. It knows what it is and what it isn't.
That's why i think writing would help. Even if your just writing to yourself.
That's all i'm saying.

Oh, thank you!
Now I understand you!
It helps a lot.
I think the same way, but my problem is that I can really write in German, and there I can give the copy a lot of expression.
But inflex is my first english site, and I just wrote the texts in english and my english teacher read through it an corrected it.
and said it's okay.
Therefore it's very hard to have good copy in english, when I can't say the things I can say in german.
But thanx for your feedback!
