Hey everybody,
Could somebody tell me what the difference is between a Web Designer and a Web Developer. If I had to guess I would say that a designer does more graphics and layout than coding and a developer does more of the coding to add the functionality to a site. Am I right on this? Thanks,
Zionchild :cool:

So does that mean a web designer that moves onto Flash MX 2004 and thinks that knowing AS2.0 goes part and parcel with knowing Flash MX 2004 is foolish to think that? -- and therefore, should pick one (designer) or the other (developer)?

Basically...
Designer == Graphics
Developer == Code

Designers code too ... well, a little bit. :rolleyes: But it involves programming ! :cool:
I usually think of it as :
designer==front end
developer==back end
Maybe you can see it more like : Designers think of what it should look like and what you should be able to do with it and developers think of what is needed to be able to do what it should do. :confused: Ehrm, it doesn't even make sense to myself anymore.
Although, that's not an accurate description either. :rolleyes:

I think that's closer than what I had Ricod :D
Designers think of what it should look like at the end (Graphics), and Developers think of what's needed to do it. I don't really know how much Designers actually code, but I know it's not nearly as much as Developers do :p
