Hey all,
My website is fairly new. And today there was a HUGE (for my site) jump in the number of visitors to my site and I got 40 bookmark in one day. I normally on get 4-7 a month.
There isn't a jump in sites or search engines linking to my page. So does anyone have an idea what happened. Could it be an error, althought i do have all the the IP addy's. I know this is a bit vague, but weird.
Thanks

40 bookmark
What's that???
Could those extra traffic be the search engine spiders??? Check out the log to see if it says anything about who the actual visitor was...

should have said 40 bookmarks. My webstat keeps track on how many people book mark my page.
spiders:
MSNBot 11 22.09 KB 04 May 2005 - 11:35
Jeeves 2 18.53 KB 04 May 2005 - 17:00
Googlebot 93.50 KB 03 May 2005 - 13:48
that isn't very much.
And all the IP's are different with differenst ISP. No pattern.

Hm... How can the server know how many people are actually bookmarking your site... Weird...
Yeah... That does not sound much of traffic... Maybe you posted some interesting link somewhere and people might have picked them up???

Add to favorites (estimated) 41
Yeah, but my webstat also show who links to my site, for exampe:
http://www.actionscript.org/forums/showthread.php3?t=70756
And I don't have any out of the normal and none are above 13 hits using links

Here is my best guess....there is a new link from a search engine that shows 3 links from it. I will assume, that is wrong and it is 140 links from it.
Thank CyanBlue
