I don't think you can, A mod has to.
Yeah i saw that thread...I was assuming it was a joke...maybe Barn posted something in there. If you still interested in hearing what Barn has to say, he is a mod at another Forum, i don't remeber which, though post i posted a link to it once in one of my threads.
Why can't we all just get along :(

OK, thanks for the mail. All ref's in your posts to barn are gone too:

Banning is one thing, but total erasure? Love to know what you have to do for that! I am disappointed...

Barn, apparently not wanting to deal with my juvenile behavior, individually deleted over 1200 of his posts (that would take a few hours...) and gone back to...

I was sick for the past few days and I just got back to see twenty something new pages of the threads and I just finished going through them...
The last one happens to be this... This is the last thing that I wanted to see happening... What a loss to all of us... :(

Ya know, one of the things that i really like about barn was he had around 900-1200 post when he left, and he never once started his own thread. His post were all replies helping people out (or telling them to stop saying "urgent" and look at the stickies). I thought that was pretty kool, I don't think too many people here can say that. I know i have started more threads than replied to.

So what the foodinkle actually happened? Is it a reference to oldnewbie's signiture
Oh! And I don't understand binary numbers!. Did you guys fight over a solution to an AS problem? I figured if anybody would have pissed someone off, it would have been Ruben. :)
And it is nobody's fault, oldnewbie. So no shame.

Yeah, I was the one who said don't provoke OldNewbie...I was just joking, but then again, you get into a fight with OldNewbie, your going to lose and walk away embarrassed as hell, lol :D
But geez...I can't believe he deleted all his posts, that guy was very helpful in my opinion. I think deleting his posts was a bad idea, they could have helped alot of people, regardless of whether he is here or not :(

yesh i agree with mmm....pi...3.14
Barn was able to answer rapidly all about everything.
For me as.org with this looses one of his strongest Mods?
anyone should get Tar and feathers

That is a punishment on the whole group actually. I think the whole thing is pathetic. I don't think anyone should have that power personally. Maybe for the last ten posts, but not for the entire history. Ban people, but don't punish everyone by deleting shared knowledge and history.

#1 - Barn was never a Mod on this site.
#2 - The mods didn't ban him or delete his posts, he did that himself.

so what actually happened, thought? What could piss someone off that much???
WoW, go away for a few days and people start disappearing. Honestly its rather funny that someone would get so offended as to go through all their posts and delete them. He acted as if oldnewbie was sleeping with his wife.....

For what it's now worth, it was never my intention of driving Barn off these forums...
In fact I'll even say that in my 5 years of posting in Flash forums, I've often recommended canfieldstudios (http://www.canfieldstudios.com) as offering the best solutions to some questions asked.
I'll even strongly state that Barn is a much better coder-programmer that I've ever been or will ever be... Sheeeeeesssssssssshh, I'm not even in this web business!
Hell, I'm not the only one with whom Barn clashed!
Maybe I should just go away, and he might come back...

come on oldnewbie, we all love you around here. I don't think anyone is aquesing you of anything thing. If you feel that way, please allow me to be the first to appoligize.
p.s. and where would you go, flash kit? :p

I could always go back to http://www.were-here.com/forum/ where I've been registered for a few years... But maybe Barn wouldn't like that! And since he's a moderator there, he'd have an edge...
Again for what it's worth, and the sense it now makes without Barn's removed posts, here's the thread that got me going... Again not against Barn's code or suggestions, but his general attitude which was often "condescending"...

i agree he was a bit "ruff around the edges". But i can't believe (well...i really can) that that's what started this. It isn't THAT big of a deal and from what i read, it didn't even deal with you, oldnewbie really. I saw it between pixwitt and barn.
and my comment "p.s. and where would you go, flash kit?" wasn't only ment as a bad joke. Once again, sorry.

I don't understand binaries either.
In Barn's defense, and no I dont agree with him, but some programmers believe their way of programming is the only way. I think we've all been guilty of it at one point or another. Now, I have read many of Barn's post and he does come off a bit, "prick-ish", then again, so do I. Oldnewbie is right though, you have to have a sense of humor or life will be difficult. All in all, forgetaboutit....its done, he's gone, I'm not losing any sleep over it, but I wouldnt be apposed to his return.

I think it's a big loss, loosing Barn. I also think this isn't Oldnewbie's fault (stop blaming yourself before we lose you to an overdose of guilt or an overdose triggered by guilt ! ;) ) or anyone's fault for that matter. It's probably too many factors to mention. We can only guess, but I hope sometime Barn decides to leave things what they were and stops by here again, even if it's just for the spirit of 'community'.

i disagree. i think he is full of sh1t and over reacts about nothing. yes he knows his stuff but i know a ton of people who knows their stuff and still don't get over inflated egos or a god complex. he can't help being a d1ck maybe but i hope for his sake he grows up, otherwise life will be full of nasty suprises, since not everybody will always agree with you.

He did know AS really well and helped in many of the threads. Though his way of helping wasn't as direct as most of us he did, in the end, help those which he started.
Sucks he couldn't just blow it off and continue to help those in need on AS[org] but I think he will continue to dominate the WH forum as he has been. A helpful poster is a loss but they do come and go and there are still plenty here.

I might never have come back if the first answer to my first post had been just an upbraiding for the temerity I had had in using the word 'urgent' in my subject line - but then maybe not everyone's so touchy? Oh.
Barn seemed good at looking for and pointing out deeper problems in people's approach to coding, though, which was good to have.

Here lies Barn.
He will be remember as a wonderful coder with knowledge that runeth over. His experience and insightness helped us all. His brazeness was a fresh out look--that all men's problems are created equal, not just the ones with URGENT type in to the subject.
Barn will be missed.

Maybe that's why Barn left ?
I've been coming and going myself and I noticed a lot of the 'old gang' don't stop by anymore. Of course, some people just move on, but others just don't get the same feeling as they used to.
Everybody is of course free to express their own opinions. After all, the opinions stated by some of the members of AS[org] do not represent the opinion of AS[org]. :) (watching movie credits finally paid off !)
