I have a fairly large sized flash presentation that I am working on. I am not worried about the size due to that is for a CD Rom presentation – not web. The first movie clip of my movie is going very slow compared to the rest of the movie clips that take place thereafter. The secondary clips are going the right speed at 30 fps. The first one though is in “slow motion”. I do have quite a bit of bitmaps imported as gifs, pngs and jpgs in the first movie clip and was thinking that might be slowing it down. Not sure how to get it up to speed. The bitmaps on the first movie clip are large and when traced bumped the file size up too much, so I left them untraced and broke them apart. Can anyone help me out in figuring out what the problem is to the slowness on my first movie clip. I can e-mail the .swf file if necessary to see what I am talking about.

Thanks for any input – greatly appreciated.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but are using a preloader/loading 100% before running the movie?

also have you tried optimizing the images that are running slow?

you could bring their quality down a little and also their size. ie. no point having a jpeg 2000 px x 1000 px if it is only 500 px x 250 px in the movie.

could depend on your processor as well?????
