View Full Version : ::::please Give Me A Check::::
Greetings All!
This is my first post - I just discovered this great site. I've been noodling around with a site for my little web business I run. I would be appreciative of your comments on the site so far.....
I'm very stuck on how to present the portfolio - any ideas would be greatly accepted!

I think overall it looked quite nice (like the 3d shapes and the grid in the background etc) but I REALLY didnt like some of the fonts used - ie the cursive script for the "back to main menu" button really doesnt go with rest of the page.
Also some of type is just too big and clunky. Like the big text saying "SERVICES" or whatever section you are in at the time. I think you should remove this - people can see what section they are in at the top of the text box anyway. I like the big logos at the left of the text boxes though
Also some of the progress bars in the preloader go past the end of the box...
hope this helps

Less is more...but more sounds would be nice. It sounds like when i first started playing guitar (actually i still sound like that).
Less fonts would be nice. I harp on this all of the time. Typography and copywriting can really really make a site rock. The thing is they do it without calling a lot of attention to themselves.
Thank you very much for your thoughts - they are very appreciated! I was expecting far worse - LOL!
I guess I must be on the right track minus the improvements I need to make...
Anyone else please feel free to criticize away!

Hi,
Sound: I get a shock every time I mouse over the buttons. You know it's the same sound as the default 'error' noise on the old mac interface. Anyway, make them go away, or tone them down a little.
I quite liked the typography actually.
Only really big complaint is that the web is a transient environment, closer to film than a book. HTML goes no way to ease transition from one state to another, it just jumps pages. Flash's most notable achievement is that it can smooth the progression from state to state, thus providing a more consistent user experience. I didn't feel you'd taken advantage of this.
cheers.
Yes...:(
the sounds on the page are hurtin'!
I shall remove them ASAP - LOL!
