View Full Version : The new thread summary/behavior is stinky

Figured out it was a display mode option
It was kind of annoying at first having those links take up all that space at the top of every thread, but I got past that. Now, what's worse is that when you go to a post, it shows only that post or that post and its replies. I want to see the thread in its entirety. This is espeically annoying after posting a new reply and being brought back to the thread (to see only my post) and moreso when using the goto last post feature from the forum listing. I want to hit the main thread and see its last post, not show only the last post - there still may be others above it I havent read yet. :(
Can this feature be vetoed?

and how replies arent listed chronological because of their own threads from the replied (so newest posts arent always at the bottom)

what r u talking about?? the view of the thread??
if so, you can change this from the display mode button
mmm..pi..3.14..

yeah, I too am confused as to what you mean? When I press the arrow button to go to the first new post it goes to the newest post in the thread. If there were newer posts that I haven't seen yet before that I just have to scroll up, no biggie...

but if you see the first post of a new 'page', you see only the fresh post... perhaps you should see a page worked back from the end, rather than from the beginning, if you see what I mean. Sounds like a big functionality change though... (what was in the tech spec? ;))

haha I think Jesse is altering you setting in the db just to mess with you now :)
UPDATE tbl_userSettings SET displayMode = "threaded" WHERE userid = (SELECT userID FROM tbl_users WHERE userName = "senocular")Put that in a PHP file and run a server job to run it every hour :)
