he probably found an answer and closed it himself and didnt care to take the time to share his solution.
I never close my threads because there has been a number of times when a user, months later somtimes, will post in response saying they are having similar problems and need help further then what is in the thread. Now instead of two threads on basically the same topic you have one thread with all the answers.

Or, he pressed close because he thought perhaps that's what you're supposed to do once you've got the post looking the way you want it; I agree with tg, it should go. How often do people actually want to close a thread? I bet the feature is confusing much more often than it's useful.
It doesn't sound to me like it would be a big extra source of work for the mods, the times that it's legitimate, if they were to be the only ones with the power.

me too...don't really see the purpose of closing a thread, doesn't really make sense to me  Theres no harm in posting in a thread that's really old, in fact, that's better than starting a new thread on the same topic. I think the admins still need to be able to close threads if they get outta control (like the threads where everyone starts yelling at each other). CB's 5000th post is closed last time I checked...but probably because it was getting too long, lol :D

Yeah... It'd be great if Jesse or Strok can take care of this... I see no point of closing the thread unless... ;)

I've never closed a thread, and since it seems like tonight for once my neighbour's using his connection too ;), I've not the patience to try one now, but is there a warning when you try? That could tell you exactly what you're doing, and even perhaps suggest that if you're closing the thread because you know the answer, don't, tell us what the answer is... I know in other contexts a warning like that would be annoying, but none of us closes a thread every day, so there'd be no harm.

hmmm... lets see....
