Ok Let's see if I can explain this. The actual workspace in flash, where the stage is. If you make a movie at 800x800 that is the only viewable space you see. The rest is a grey color and you cannot see parts of mc's or grpahics if they expand bigger then the stage. Is there a way to set this part viewable? I want my actual stage to still be 800x800 but I need to be able to view the rest of the work which sometimes expands to 1400x1400.

It does expand with 'work area' checked under view. It still is not big enough for all the content though.

Any ideas?

I may be confused about what you're describing, but if you view the .swf directly, with no embed tags or anything, you can see portions that hang off onto the workspace.
In other words, if you have used more than the 800x800 stage area, it will display when opening the .swf directly, but not when it's embedded in an html file.
What I don't understand is why you don't just make the movie as big as you need it.
If you're screen is too small, then view it at 50% or 75% until you're finished.

here is what I mean. If you open an fla and zoom out (citrl-) The "workspace" is always only double the stage size. I want the workspace to not have a set size.

Red is the workspace size, blue is the stage itself. See how the "orange" box gets cut off? What i want is the red outline to expand to the whole size of the screena nd not have all that grey space.

I think you're stuck with it that way. Don't see any preferences to change it or view options to modify it. I'm on a Mac though. PC might be different, but not likely.

That is just lame to contrict workspace like that.
