Difference between spawning and opening new pop-up??

I've figured out the pop-ups with the help of this web-site and the fine forums, but could anyone tell me what the difference is between 'spawnWindow' (like in Flash Tutorial 6,) and 'openNewWindow' (like in Flash Tutorial 8,) ???

There really isnt a difference, just termonology. They both produce the same outcome. I wouldnt worry about the difference in wording...
