I wish there was a market... I know php and actionscript very well... it's just a matter of applications that ppl want currently it seems alot of things are for free.
it looks like flash components might be a good market, but there are currently just no things that seem cool.
the future could be an all flash forum. i think i will spend 2 months and release. there could be a large market for flash bulletin boards, IF DONE CORRECTLY.
the component market has hardly been touched... just look at how many tools can be bought for programs like vb.... the number of flash components doesn't even come close.... just duplicate some of those.
hhhmm.. yeah, the component market hasn't been touched.
but, I would need to think of some components... what do you think would be beneficial? I know that flashloaded.com is the only component web site. im trying to think of another.
im thinking of just selling premade RIAs built with php and AS2. no doubt, considering the complexlity, there won't be many ppl who could compete.

just search
"flash components"
There are tons of them, but clearly flashloaded and ghostwire?? (sp?), and alot of developers have 1-2 that they have for sale. Mr.Skinner is about to release his company's set of components that are less bloated than MM's.

oh yea, so that's where most of the components for sale are...heh.
an interesting article that runs along the lines of your original post:

thanks. that is cool and all.. but right now, i have no incentive to develop anything because elance.com has a bunch of crappy people bidding low on projects and i can't find anyone who wants anything.

If the potential client wants to have a developer who has lower price range, they will get them, but my thought is that you get what you pay for... So, get yourself a good portfolio, and prepare to wow your client with what you can do not with your $$$... That's my 2 cents... :)
