Media Playback video size

I have a media playback component in my file, and I want it to play back a video that is 480x360. I have checked "use preferred media size," but the video still plays back in whatever size the component is on the stage. Do i need to add pixels to the size of the component in the property box to compensate, or is there a way to get it to resize automatically to fit my video?
