Simple simple basic smooth movement [Archive]

Hey, I tried the tutorials for movement and stuff and they were all great and all except there was nothing at all for a bare bones basic plot point a to point b with friction and speed.

I know I am asking a VERY newbie question but code just seems to alude me...

And also why cant this be in a visual tool ??? Apple's Motion program "throw" would be sweet for this....

Have you ever checked out the tutorials that come with Flash? Check out the "thrust" one with the ladybug, it uses thrust and friction (decay). The code could easily be stripped down to basic linear movement.
