Go to the URL below. When you mouse over the city buttons, an animated "marker" will follow your mouse to that loaction. When you mouse off, it returns to the last one clicked. Also, when you click a city name, it will move to that location and stay. I would like to know exactly how they did this. Specifically with setting up the MCs and actionscript.

Better yet, if you know of a tutorial page I can go to that shows examples and FLAs, send me the URL.

It's kinda an adaptation of a Barney's style menu.
We have a simple tutorial here:
http://www.actionscripts.org/tutorials/intermediate/relative_scrolling/rel_scrol_1.shtml

Or you can see the more complicated version here:
http://www.the-stickman.com/tutorials/f4barneys_menu.shtml

However, I think since all you really want to do is make the animation move to where the mouse is and back, you could use this tutorial:
http://www.actionscripts.org/tutorials/intermediate/actionscripted_movement/index.shtml

Your buttons could have mouseOver events which set the target _x and the clip animates while() the mouseOveris true. On mouse out it animates back to the base_x which is reset whenever an item is clicked...

Not too hard at all

Cheers
