Sorry, I don't believe you can - it's a security thing, like the task bar, so that the user knows it's a browser window.

Whoops, that shows what I know! By way of rather uncanny coincidence a couple of minutes after posting this I looked in the site check section at this http://www.michaelcarpenter.net/~thepost/ - no chrome whatsover, nothing to tell me whether it's a browser window or some app installing itself! Ugly and frightening at the same time...
The effect you want appears to be achieved with CSS/Javascript jiggery-pokery that addresses the property parent.chromewinr.document.bgColor and related props... view source on that example if you must ;)
or just read this (http://www.actionscripts.org/tutorials/beginner/Open_a_chromless_window/index.shtml)

Who agrees that it's an effect that stinks?

Well it doesn't work on a mac so I agree with you - the effect stinks :D
I'm with Jimbob!
I think it's uggers, misleading and bloody hard to see.
I figure it's a bum. Anyone see the 'close window' icon?
Smart tricksters. Who needs that (except Mister Microsoft)?!?
