Foundation Flash 5 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1903450314/actionscripinfla) comes highly recommended although I have not read it myself. It's a book for beginners and it covers the authoring environment as well as actionscript (begginer to intermediate level). It's also pretty cheap (as flash books go).

If you want a real Bible, I guess you should wait for Flash 5 Bible (assuming one is being made.. ?). Flash 4 Bible is without a doubt the greatest Flash 4 book around for all levels so I assume, if they make another for Flash 5 it will maintain the same standard. But it will be about $60USD as it's predecessor was.

For more good books checkout our books page (http://www.actionscripts.org/books.shtml). Strok has some of these but I haven't read any of them yet so I can't vouch for/against them.
