browser performance

For a while I thought that it was the mac flash player which was slow but I have noticed that using Mozilla or IE things seem to run considerably better than on Safari. This only really applies to quite demanding flash files but it is very noticable with some of my stuff.
Has anyone else noticed this?

not that way but I have seen player to run slow when I used the wmode ="transparent" in the <Object> tags.
