buttons and multiple actions

i have two buttons within a movie clip. button one fades in and on release goes to button two. button two fades in and on release goes to button one, etc. i would like button one to also turn off the music contained in another movie clip and button two to turn it back on. what shall i do and thank you for your time. addison

If the movie clip just contains music you can just tell it to stop playing and restart when you want the music to come back on.

_root.mcName.stop()

and

_root.mcName.play()
