Electrocardiogram Effect

Any1 could suggest me how to simulate an electrocardiogram in Flash? I've tried with masking a stright horizontal line with a traced graphic from an electrocardiogram found with google, but the effect sucks!....any suggestion would be appreciated so much! :)
