hello all...

i am needing some advice on some problems i am having with background music in my flash file....

i am just wanting to play simple streaming mp3 that is toggable, but here's my problem- since i am still rather weak in actionscripting, this file contains a lot of frame labels and "GO TO" actions with a lot of STOPs on the timeline. i seem to be running into problems whether i put the sound file in an MC or make it streaming or whatever- i just can't get it to play seamlessly in the background.

any ideas? i know this is very basic and it's probably coming from a lack of understanding of timelines and multiple timelines. maybe someone knows how to help....

Place the sound - streaming - in its own clip and load it into its own Level. This way it remains untouched when u jump from frame to frame in the first level.

Hi ricod,

can you please advise me?
are you saying that if I have my sound file in its own .swf and load it to another level, it will play continuously throughout my timeline without stopping after the first movie clip ends out of many movie clips?????

if so, you have saved me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

What do I need to say to confirm this ?

The thing is, if its in its own mc or swf, it should not be affected by other clips and thus oughta play continuously. By putting it in a seperate level, it won't be affected by scenes. If your problem is just stopping mcs, then a seperate mc just for sound will suffice. Just try what's bes for you're setup. :)
