For some reason, I am unable to get Flash MX 2004 to import a Captivate .cp source file. It does not have the .cp file type in the drop down menu when I attempt to import into the library or to the stage. When I select all file types and then attempt the operation, it does not recognize the file type and asks if I would like to use Quicktime to import the file.
We are using roaming profiles on Windows 2000 Professional. Flash is 7.02 and Captivate is 1.0.1188.
Thanks!

Howdy and Welcome... :)
You do need to create the FLA file from the Captivate and load that into the Flash... Flash cannot load the CP file directlry...

I must be an administrator...
Bummer! :( 'cause that ain't likely to happen in this environment!

So I (incredibly) got put in the Admin group. Guess all those chocolate chip cookies paid off. I unloaded Flash and Captivate, rebooted, loaded Flash, rebooted, loaded the update, loaded Captivate. Then tried importing into Flash. Nope. Didn't work. So I tried Captivate - then tried the export to Flash MX 2004. It opened Flash (instead of saying "You must first load Flash MX 2004..." but it didn't export anything into Flash. Then I tried opening that file, which was an empty .fla and imported into the library the .cp file. This worked! It was the first time Flash recognized the .cp file!
Now, it still doesn't like importing to stage - does the import to library well, and then I can import to stage.
Strange.
