Counter without PHP

I need to use counters on my site, at least for the home page. I just found out my host server does not support PHP scripts, and that is why Jessie's Dynamic Counter tutorial did not work. So what is the next best way to do this with Flash or is there another way? What way works for you? -N

What CAN your host do for you? Whatever enhanced technology they can deal with (CGI/ASP/JSP etc) can do a counter for you and if you just need to measure hits on your home page it's not so much about flash as just about what they support...

It looks like CGI is it. Anyplace you guys can refer me to for a good, simple CGI counter?
