I have been learning Flash (5) for 3 months now and i have just learnt how to create roll/drop down menus. I have trouble assigning actions to the menu though. I only have one button on the roll down menu, it works (jumps to scene2) when i click on it in the movie clip timline.

But if i 'test movie' nothing works, it does not recgonise any actions or it as a button. I have tried ungrouping the button, I have also tried changing the behavour in the library but then the animation does not work, nor does the button. I know the answer is going to make me seem increadibly stupid, but i am going mad and would appreciate any help at all, thanks again !

Thanks - HEX

Here's the *.fla file. Hope this is what you need:

There is another scene exactly the same that i want it to jump to. I know what to do, but not how to do it. i.e - i know that the menu is still a movie clip not a button, but when i change it the animation does not work and when i un-group the 'home-button' the action will not work in the 'test movie'- option. Anyway you know more than me, i am very eager to learn flash and therefore appreciate your help and time.

this is why I rarely use scenes

have a look at the attached file - it uses frame labels instead of scenes

also the home bit of the menu you were animating was a group when it should have been a symbol

cheers

Thanks very much for the help, you helped me over my first major stumbling block, no university work for me tonight, this means flash until the morning.

Thanks - HEX.
