It's not too exciting, but I tried to keep it as simple as possible, being as how I am a newbie!

Well since you want to display your photography skills, I would like to be able to zoom in and inspect the pictures even closer. I have seen sites that have a picture gallery set up like yours, and when you click on one of the thumbnails, it blows up one of the pictures (or loads it into the blank movie symbol) and then there is an option to zoom in even further (by opening up a jpg).

Also, are you using the alpha scale to fade those pictures in and out? I have seen some photography sites where they use brightness to fade pictures in and out and the effect works a little bit nicer.

Anyhoot, the site looks good an functional so far.

Very interesting idea, JackCrack... I like it!

Would you preload the images then, since I would be making them much larger jpegs? The only other issue I would be worried about when making the jpegs larger are his clients just saving the photos off the site, instead of paying for them through the photographer - I know there is a way to protect images (disables the "save as command" maybe?).
