Hi all,

I have posted this thread on many Flash Forums but in vain...Here is a link : http://www.buffalowing.net/ check the photos link of this website. There you will see a flash Picture viewer component has been used. There in the menu when you move your mouse on a specific pic it will run a effect on it. I don't know what to call that effect 'white flash' or what but it looks awesome..If someone can tell me how it is done...

Regards,
Xeeschan

Hello,

Is this what you mean?

I used my Avatar as the pictures.

That's simple.
Make a simple Movie Clip, MC with white square flashing and then fading out to zero alpha with 'ease out' on motion tween. Make your buttons(in the above case, the thumbnail images) of the size of the above MC's sq.s. Then put the above MC(of sq.s) on these thumbnail image buttons, with the MC action performing on "mouseover".
That's it!! As simple as it gets.
Such effects are simple, but appear great. You can see this effect on a variety of web sites, flash ofcourse.
Sorry!! Couldn't provide you a flash sample, as I am sneaking into 'actionscript.org' site, where actually my job is technical support. And, I don't have permission to use Flash. Anyway, just try.

hey,

first of all thanx for the file, it was a gr8 help. Now I want you to have a look at this page : www.lunarpages.com there you will see a Flash header with a guy and a woman standing. As the flash loads there is a spark of light on both of them as if they had a shine. Tell me if that effect can be done similarly as you have done it in the example file which you have given me.

regards,
Xeeschan

Yes, you can by having a more advanced drawing. The effect is probably fastest done on photoshop or fireworks and then put in flash though.

HI Headshotz!!!
Well, as I said it before, I don't have access to Macromedia Flash here. I'm posting to this forum from my office. We are not given access to download as well. So I can only read and see what is put in here on website with SWF in IE. I couldn't download your example file. Which is why I had to explain, though I am not good at it. Anyway, I'm not copying.
I just thought to reply, since I had the same question(s), when I was introduced to flash initially.

OK, I understand. People find it easier to read .fla files for "special effects", similar to this simple one rather than have to generate the image in their heads.
