Hi,

Does anyone know how to do an effect on a large body of text?? I've seen a few sites where the text (body copy) has some sort of effect on loading, but am not sure how this is done - component, actionscript, etc, etc??? I've looked & looked but all I have found is effects for small areas of text - has anyone got any ideas??

Here's an example (lovely site too!!) http://www.okworks.com/ See the text effect on 'Company' - the others are fairly easy (I think), but how do they do that on 'Company' - is it a series of masks??

Also if anyone knows how they do that wave effect on the image load - I'd love to know :)

Cheers!!

Looks like little lines of masks to me, with moving text underneath.

If it is scripted they are using the "typewriter code" forwards and backwards on each different line.

Hmmm, you could be right...I will investigate some more.

Cheers! :)

I agree with DylanMarvin on this one. Moving text under stretching masks. I doubt there's much if any ActionScript being used on any of those text effects. It looks all hand tweened to me because it's way too "custom" and I couldn't pick up on anything being "random".

I think the image transistions are being done in AfterEffects, not sure, the transitions locked-up FireFox twice on me.

Yeah, it is masking. If you slow it down you can see the letters are NOT typed out one by one like AS would make them do, instead a mask if shifted across it because you can see 1/2 the letter or 1/4 etc. sometimes.
