I have been working on this game engine on and off for awhile. This is the first time I'm showing it to people other than my close friends for criticism.
All this is, is a tech demo of the engine. When the main menu loads (after the intro), click on "Training". If you lag or experience other problems, you can go into "Setup" to turn off some features that may be causing problems such as lag.
Please let me know what you think, no matter how bad you think it is. Also post what you CPS (not FPS) you get and what processor your computer has. I'm trying to get general idea of what the minimum requirements should be.
Thank you.

While I am waiting, you should probably just put a simple preloader bar on it, because right now I have no idea if it's even loading. I know it's just the demo, but after a while I can see how people would begin to think it might not be working.

It has a loading bar. The SWF file is only 17KB. It must not be loading.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I think it just might be me, I have been having a lot of problems with flash player 6 lately, I will get it fixed now actually.

The file is in Flash 7. It plays much better with the beta of Flash Player 8 though.

Ahhh... Works now. The Up and Down keys don't work but the left and right do  Good work so far though.
FP 7, Ok, it's just when I right clicked it said "More about Flash Player 6"

Thanks. I plan on adding ladders and a UFO that you can fly around in to the game. Those will be using the up/down keys.

Looks interesting, How far through are you, or have you just started?

That depends.... For the game itself I haven't done much with aside from; planning, layout, story, music, etc... I haven't started actually making the levels because I need to finish the engine first. The engine is almost finished, I mainly need to add AI support for enemies. I also need to do tweaking and optimizing.
The engine is a small, self-contained SWF file that doesn't have to be edited at all for different games. You build the game out of external SWF files for movies and levels and XML files for data such as the HUD's. Those get loaded into the engine as needed so people don't have to load the entire game to play it.
Here's an example of what I mean...
Here's the HUD file for all the menus and displays in the game so far:
http://www.wolfenhex.com/poochie3/data/huds.xml -- All you have to do is edit this file and the HUD's in the game will be edited too.
You also have XML files for things like the order of the levels, what happens when a level finishes (does it play a movie or does it move onto the next level?), and just the general game settings like keys.
