Speed up fade on image

I have a series of images that are < 30 k a piece and a trying to fade from one to the other. The fade is slow and choppy though. I tried to get the image file size as small as possible. I've adjusted the publish settings to try and get a better fade. No dice. Does anybody have any advice on speeding up this fade. One other thing is that the images are 770 by 560 if that makes any difference. I have seen nice fading images that are that big though.

What framerate are you using? Sometimes fades are choppy if your system can't handle it so make sure you have no extremely detailed, large file size pictures in the background. If you are testing on the web make sure you have a preloader, and are you doing the fade manually or scripted?

I have done the frame rate at 20, 50, and 100 and the fade is scripted. Any ideas? Thanks for the response

Ok, how big are the actual images before you import them?
